Port of Liverpool - Seaforth Triangle
The Seaforth Triangle is a
£90m deep-sea terminal development to facilitate the birthing
of post-Panamax vessels. This is an important development as it
will be the first deep-sea birth on the west coast of the UK. The
terminal will be able to accommodate two post-Panamax ships at one
time and has the capability to handle more than 500,000 TEUs
pa.
The new terminal will be created by building a river wall from the Royal Seaforth Dock to Gladstone Dock and filling in the triangle to create a 17 hectare terminal. The scheme has been given approval by the Department for Transport and Peel Ports are currently developing the business case.
